Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must have:

Good understanding of Microsoft 365 and Windows 10 / 11 installation steps

Good knowledge of AAD and AD

Good understanding of mobile operating systems, such as iOS and Android

Understanding of security behaviors and implementations

Demos are based on current version of products and could be in some cases, with interactive guides for attendees.

    • Introduction to Advanced Threat Protection concepts for endpoints

    • Onboarding devices, creating policies for protection and setting up the Defender behavior
    • Endpoint Protection scenarios (managing multiple OSes)

 

Module 1: "Malware Concepts & Understanding modern threats" 

This module provides an overview of various threats and how to prevent the attacks, based on NIST Framework. 

After completing this module, students will be able to: 

    • Understand what the common attacks and threats are today 

    • Understand the basic security to establish on the perimeters 
    • Identify what are the misconfigured perimeters 

 

Module 2: "Licensing questions about Defender for Business & Microsoft Defender for Endpoint"

 

This module discusses the license differences between Defender for Business and Endpoint. 

After completing this module, students will be able to: 

    • See the data retention setting and compare with Business version 
    • Establish the proper level of license, depending on expectations 

 

Module 3: "Windows 10 / 11 settings (BitLocker, Anti-malware & Firewall Settings)"

 

This module discusses how to manage Windows Security features and properly configure various settings. 

After completing this module, students will be able to: 

    • Establish policies for Security on MEM
